America West and US Airways have announced that the two airlines will merge under the name US Airways and will combine the frequent flyer programs under the Dividend Miles moniker. In related news ACE, the parent company of Air Canada will invest in the new merged US Airways and own 7% of the company. As part of the deal Air Canada Technical Services will see up to $1.5B worth of maintenance work from the new airline.

Cathay Pacific Asia Miles has teamed up with RBC to offer the RBC Cathay Pacific Visa Platinum. The card offers a 5,000 Asia Mile bonus upon enrollment, Complimentary (Green Tier) membership into The Marco Polo Club and more. Full details can be found here. Air Canada has canceled it's Quebec City to Boston direct service that was scheduled to begin on June 1, citing low sales numbers those who did buy tickets will be put on flights connecting through Montreal and Toronto
