You are probably familiar with a feature on our site entitled 'American Express Cobalt Card Confirmed Multiplier Locations' and we have now created the same thing here for the American Express Business Edge Card. If you aren't familiar with that page, it is a list of merchants that have been confirmed by our users as locations to where and how you can earn points on the card. In the case of the Cobalt card it is 5x points for Eats & Drinks, 2x points for rides, travel & gas and then 1x points for everything else. We have to thank our reader Reed Sutton for the idea as he asked if there was a similar chart for the American Express Business Edge card and since there wasn't we decided to make it!

The American Express Business Edge Card differs from the Cobalt Card in some the multipliers it has. Specifically it earns 3x times the points for Card purchases on eligible business essentials including office supplies & electronics, rides & gas, eats & drinks then 1x points on all other spending.

You can also check American Express Canada's Shop Small website - it lists all their independent merchants where you can use your American Express cards at. It doesn't tell you what category they fall under but in most cases the restaurants and bars should fall under the Eats & Drink category.

It’s best for the Cardmember to call customer service for bonusing related issues. We need the Cardmembers data to be able to source the transaction in the back end to determine if the multiplier worked.... without Cardmember data, it’s hard to determine what would have happened.

This way American Express can make sure everything is working properly and if not they can get it fixed.
